昭和35年12月1日、創立80周年式典が開催されました。
校歌が制定され、発表会が行われました。

城址のほとり 代陽に
強い子 良い子が 仲良く伸びる
龍峯清く 朝呼ぶところ
明日の日本の 力が育つよ

不知火燃える 八代は
昔も今も 門出の港
自立のちかい 楽しく胸に
平和の世界を 目ざして進もう
